Faecalibacterium are the most abundant commensal bacteria in the gut and offers many health benefits. Faecalibacterium produce butyric acid which is a short-chain fatty acid that helps to decrease inflammation and improve cellular health. Healthy levels of Faecalibacterium have been associated with a decrease in Crohn's disease symptoms, maintaining a healthy weight, improved mood, and improved cardiovascular health. Faecalibacterium cannot be directly put into probiotic supplements with current technology, but there is a lot you can do to boost existing levels.
