ALSUpdated a month ago

The gut microbiota has been linked to ALS within the research in a few ways.

  • Weak intestinal tight junctions

  • Increased gut permeability "leaky gut"

  • Reduced levels of the butyrate-producing bacteria

Our probiotics and prebiotic target increasing beneficial bacteria that contribute to the strength of the lining of the gut (tight junctions & gut permeability) as well as increasing bacteria that produce the short-chain fatty acid, butyrate. However, we do not have a specific probiotic targeted at ALS but our gut health probiotic and prebiotic targets areas that ALS has been associated with.
